Wisdom Teeth

If it becomes necessary for your wisdom teeth to be extracted, our dentists will help you make an informed decision on the best time for the procedure. In general, we recommend removing them once the bottom teeth have broken through the bone, but not the gum. This is when the roots are shorter and further away from an important nerve that runs along the bottom jaw.

Also called third molars, wisdom teeth are often removed due to lack of space. They would otherwise hinder the alignment of your other teeth, leading to other complications.

Although wisdom tooth extraction can be done at the clinic, a patient may sometimes be referred to a maxillofacial surgeon.
