Fixed Dental Bridge
The fixed bridge is a permanent solution to replace one or more missing teeth. It generally consists of one or more artificial teeth fastened between two crowns, thus covering the entire edentulous area. The bridge is stabilized by teeth/implants located near the missing teeth.
Here are the advantages of a dental bridge:
- Fill an unaesthetic space
- Avoid premature dental erosion
- Favour the mastication process and elocution
- Prevent migration of the neighbouring teeth
If properly taken care of, a bridge can last approximately 8 to 10 years. Your dentist will show you how to use a floss threader so that you can floss once a day around the artificial tooth, in between the bridge.
